Wonderful transfer from Salzburg to Vienna

We recently took 3 inter-city transfer trips with sidetriptours and they worked out great for us. We had luggage and the point-to-point hotel pick-up and drop off really helped save us time and effort and on top of it we were able to sightsee places on the way ! One of the trips was salzburg to vienna with a stop at Hallstatt. We visited the salt mines and it was a wonderful experience. Our guide Zuzana was super. She did the drop/pickup at just the right spot in Hallstatt so we were able to maximize the tight schedule. Also, at Vienna we had pre-booked a evening bus tour at 6:30pm. As we were getting delayed, Zuzana was kind enough to drop us off at the bus-tour and then she helped drop off all our luggage at our hotel. We are very grateful as we would have certainly missed our vienna bus tour if not for her help! She and sidetriptours certainly went above and beyond!

Great way to go

Stepan is a friendly, knowledgable and safe driver. We had a lot of laughs.and enjoyed both the planned stops and his company. Lots of photos taken. Certainly recommend this way of travelling between the cities. The fact that we were picked up from our existing accommodation and delivered to the door of our next accommodation removed all of the stress. Just what a holiday needs.

Would never again choose train if Side Tour is available

So pleased I didn’t book the train. Having a driver who knows the best spots to stop and has so much knowledge about the area was the best. Pavlina could not have been more helpful or considerate. First stop was the Waterfall. Loved this stop. After spending do much time in cities it was good to be out in nature. Pavlina was able to explain a lot of the history and best spots to take photos. Then we stopped at the Abbey. Loved it. Just a shame you can’t take photos. The library is amazing. Beer tasted ok too. Then we stopped at Durnstein, dry stone. Again Pavlina’s knowledge about the area was great. We enjoyed the walk through the area and again Pavlina helped with photo opportunities. So pleased we are also using Side Trip Tours to travel from Vienna to Prague. Incredible value for money.

Best decision ever!

Pav was fabulous! She found and stopped at a winery per our special request at the base of Durstein castle in addition to our other stops. We loved our trip and were so glad we chose this way to get to Vienna rather than the train.

Yes, this is a one-way tour ending in Vienna. Please note that the tour does not take you back to Munich.
How long is this tour?

The planned duration of this tour is 9.5 hours. For the safety of our passengers and drivers, we are unable to accommodate requests to extend this duration.
Do you offer hotel pick-up/drop-off?

Hotel pick-up and drop-off are only available when booking this tour as a private tour for a single group. Open group tours have a fixed meeting point and drop-off location.
Can I take my luggage with me?
Yes! We have space for luggage, similar to common airline baggage allowances. There is no extra charge for luggage that meets these criteria:
- One item of airline carry-on size: maximum size of 55 x 40 x 23cm (22 x 14 x 9in)
- One item of airline checked size: maximum size of 80 x 50 x 30cm (32 x 20 x 12in), weighing less than 23 kg (50lbs)
- One personal item: maximum size of 15 x 15 x 10 cm (6 x 6 x 4in)

Is lunch included in the tour price?

Lunch is not included in the tour price but a lunch break is scheduled in Melk. Kindly let our tour leader know if you have any special dietary needs that we should take in account.
Is this tour suitable for senior citizens?

Yes! With a maximum of 8 people in each group, our guide can make sure that the pace of the tour is suitable for everyone. Just note that the tour does include some walking at the stops.
What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel more than 48 hours before the tour, your booking is fully refunded*. If you cancel less than 48 hours before the tour or in the case of a no-show, no refund is issued.
