, the way we see them today, are designed in the 19th century for entertaining in the summer season. They palace is probably the best example of English Gothic style in Continental Europe. The Palace and Grounds, about 200h, are under UNESCO World Heritage protection due their unique architectural landscape.

Lednice Palace and Grounds is a fabulous example of wealth the nobility had in Europe in the 19th century. The Lichtenstein family had huge landholdings in the area that they had gathered gradually over the centuries through conquering, marrying, and buying. It was their loyalty to the Habsburg dynasty that raised the Lichtensteins to great prominence in the Austria-Hungarian Empire.

Embarking on a journey to Macocha Abyss, we're treated to captivating views from both upper and lower viewpoints. At the upper viewpoint, towering limestone cliffs offer breathtaking panoramas, revealing the abyss's dramatic plunge into the depths below. Descending to the lower viewpoint, adventurers immerse themselves in the tranquil ambiance, surrounded by sheer rock walls and the soothing sounds of cascading waterfalls. Together, these perspectives offer an unforgettable exploration of Macocha Abyss's beauty and geological significance.
About Macocha
Macocha, located in the Moravian Karst region of the Czech Republic, is a natural formation known as a sinkhole or abyss. It boasts a depth of approximately 138 meters (453 feet), making it the largest of its kind in Central Europe. Formed by the collapse of an underground cave system, Macocha is surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and is a popular destination for tourists and nature enthusiasts. Visitors can explore the area via walking trails and viewing platforms, offering stunning views of the abyss and its surrounding karst landscape. Additionally, a cable car provides access to the bottom of the gorge, offering a unique perspective of this geological wonder.
We will explore Olomouc's Old Town, its Baroque architecture, visit the UNESCO listed Holy Trinity Column, admire the famous Astronomical Clock, and then sit down for a delicious lunch.
What we'll do
We will explore the Old Town with its stunning buildings in different styles (mainly Renaissance and Baroque), two main squares (Upper and Lower), and impressive town hall with the unique Astronomical Clock on one of its walls. If we are lucky, we can even witness the small show the clock makes. But the real highlight of Olomouc is the UNESCO-listed Holy Trinity Column from the early 18th century the largest structure of that kind. After exploring Olomouc and its attractions, it’s time for lunch before heading to the next destination.
