Best Way to Travel Between Munich and Prague

Our private group tour with Petra was absolutely amazing. She was very informative and an absolute pleasure to talk to along the way. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the stops, and I believe we set the Sidetrip record for walking up the Karlštejn Castle at 18 min 46 sec! I highly recommend and will be using Sidetrip again in the future.

    What we'll do

We will walk through Regensburg’s charming Old Town and take a look at its famous St Peter’s Cathedral . As you wander around the city you can sense the history surrounding you. We cross the Stone Bridge - medieval bridge that for a long time was the only way to cross the Danube here. Everywhere you turn you will find beautiful views of the Regensburg Old Town.

    About Regensburg
Regensburg is in a very strategic location. Here three rivers meet - the Danube, Naab, and Regen. Before modern times crossing big rivers was a complicated matter. In the 12th century a stone bridge was built across the Danube in Regensburg. This made the city even more important bringing wealth through trade. Luckily the Old Town took little damage in the Second World War and is today under UNESCO World Heritage protection.

Pilsen is Czech Republic’s fourth largest city with a population of about 170 000 people. Growing around a castle, Pilsen becomes a city in the 13th century. The city grows in importance in the 19th century when many important industries are founded here during industrialization of the Austria-Hungarian Empire. Most famous of them is Škoda Works. Be the hero of your group and book a Sidetrip Tour

We booked the Munich -> Prague tour as part of a larger Austria -> Germany -> Czech Republic holiday, and my entire group could not have been more happy with this particular leg of the trip. The van was clean, modern, and safe. The itinerary featured some amazing sights, history, and food. Vera, our guide, was patient, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. The restaurant she took us to in Pilsen was everyone's favorite, not just of the tour but across our entire trip. My fellow travelers lauded me for booking such a clever tour. We look forward to our next European excursion which will be sure to include a Sidetrip Tour!

A fun day!

Pavlina was great. It ended up being us and another couple, and the day was great. I'm so glad that we chose this option over taking the train. Each town we stopped in was great, and she suggested a great lunch stop! We walked around town in Regensberg and Pilsen. We made a stop in Titen because of a festival at the castle. It was a great stop. When we arrived in the castle area, the festival was over, and most people were headed out, so we got to walk a little bit and get a glimpse of it.

Do it! So worth it.

I am so happy to have found Sidetrip Tours for our travel from Munich to Prague. Door to door service from and to our hotels - how great is that? In addition to that, we were able to see sights along the way that we would not have seen if we took the train instead. Our guides, Silvia and Filip (we had two since we had too many people for one vehicle) were very friendly and knowledgeable. The cost was very reasonable. Communication was easy. All-in-all, a fantastic trip! We are very satisfied with the entire experience. Kudos to our guides - they were fantastic.
